The extended eHope on line community opens as much or as little information that each cancer patient chooses to share with other patients or caregivers with the ability to communicate via email or threaded discussion.
Each eHope member has a password protected area where they can edit their profile.
eHope has a full threaded discussion community where patients can participate either in open community boards or closed boards open only to members of their family.

ehope.nu is an online community supported totally by the efforts of volunteers with the focus of providing hope and a sense of community for Maine cancer patients, their families and friends.
Client Needs:
Create a unique communication tool which enables cancer patients in Maine to meet other patients, and to stay in close contact with their support network consisting of family, friends and caregivers.
Create a secure online mechanism for cancer patients to establish and maintain a personal profile including as much or as little information as they choose.
Create a means to access theraputic music, informational links which enable the community to learn more about current treatment alternatives and palliative care.
Create a threaded discussion community with public and private boards and chat rooms which facilitate communication between patients, family, friends and caregivers.
